Future Speak
04:58
|
|||
Climbing up the mountain,
Sailing cross the sea,
Look beyond tomorrow,
Tell me what you see.
(What do you see?)
I see a world where black lives matter.
Stories told without the stain of guns.
Peace, love, serenity, compassion, understanding.
When you feel weak just let the future speak.
When the world’s stuck on repeat
We fight to let the future speak.
Can you hear imagination’s triumphant sound?
Will we learn to value thought before it’s too late,
Or let the pulpit guide us into thinking we are great.
Great? Wait, they’re preying on hate, ordained by so-called fate,
So we retaliate against the t.v. station that’s feeding the nation
On the sensation of savior adulation spitting on education.
Preaching the promise of eternal life,
But love from above turned a blind eye to strife.
But we’ve got fighters integrating institutions,
Believing in inclusion, rejecting the illusion of a foreign intrusion,
Shining light amidst confusion, and giving this nation
A new blood transfusion.
We’re resolute, anchored by firm roots,
Facing attack we can’t compute ‘cause
We speak a different language in a world that’s filled with fear,
Calibrate to communicate, ‘cause future speak is here.
When you feel weak just let the future speak.
When the world’s stuck on repeat
We fight to let the future speak.

For Good
06:04
|
|||
The waters rise, taking our shore.
How can we ignore such danger?
Displacing homes, heartaches unknown
To the safe, but not for good...
The coral reef, fills me with grief.
Our own work of art deserted,
The slipping time, we've lost our minds.
When will we take a stand?
Fight for our once enchanted lands.
Millions of years to grow,
In just one lifetime dealt a crushing blow.
A kindling sparks, and wild fires burn.
No cause for concern, some fools say
Until it's them who face such an end,
It's too late for good...
The risk we take in closing our eyes,
Our world is a life, only mortal.
We're on the brink, yet so few blink.
When will we take a stand?
Fight for our once enchanted lands.
Millions of years to grow,
In just one lifetime dealt a fatal blow.
The trees of old, proud and strong,
We muted their song, so cruelly.
The Senator, I weep for her,
Much too late for good...
We've fracked our way to an earthquake a day.
The fault is our own, not nature's.
Who will resist when greed still persists?
Only those out for good...
Is there time for good?
We're still safe, but not for good...
(For good)
Not too late for good...

Glimmer
05:52
|

Glimmer tiny light, your filament is hanging on,
As you decorate the sky, and yet I wonder for how long
Will you survive? before it's time to move on
And sing a new song...
Glimmer tiny light, you're just a cog within a wheel
As you shine into the night, in color palettes far beyond the wheel
Of life, please say I'll have the strength to heal.
Will I know the glow is ending,
Or will I get caught pretending
Holding on was not a waste of time?
Glimmer shooting star, a spectacle that stops us cold,
As you streak across the sky, in awe we watch your path unfold,
To greater heights, before you vanish in due time,
And leave me wondering...
If a bulb, is slowly fading,
Flickering, I'm through with waiting,
I’m moving on and letting embers die.
Extinguish me to build anew,
I’ll let the glow bring warmth to you and
Be the spark that makes your new light shine.
Starlight, shining bright, from a thousand light years past our tiny earth
By the time we can see it may already be free
So watch the supernova gleam.
Stardust, mixed up stuff
Strewn across the sky like wreckage and debris,
But more lies ahead, a foundation still unsaid
And constellations yet to be.
Searching for the nerve to turn my back on what is done,
No more glimmer of hope, this spotlight’s left me no place else to run
But from dead ends, before they trap me in the dark.
Now I’m certain...
If a bulb, is slowly fading,
Flickering, I'm through with waiting,
I’m moving on and letting embers die.
Extinguish me to build anew,
I’ll let the glow bring warmth to you and
Be the spark that makes your new light shine.
Let your new light shine.
Let your glimmer shine.
